Holy Mackerel. When I get sick, I get SICK! I blame this on being too busy and on a friend who shared her germs with me. Last week I began to feel a cough coming on and sure enough, Thursday BOOM I was sick. I took a few days off work and life and spent a lot of time taking medicine and sleeping. I slept and slept and slept. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Buckley’s pills are magical and not only have I been sleeping like a baby but I’ve been having wild and crazy dreams.
I haven’t been able to work out, ride my bike or do anything that exerts to much energy. I’m feeling anxious because I want to get on my bike and back to the gym and I’m scared I’m going to fall off the fitness wagon. I’m going to Winnipeg on Friday so I’ll have a few days away from my bike and the gym so for the next 3 days I’m going to do what I can to MOVE!
I’m ready to feel better ANY MOMENT NOW! Okay, thanks virus.
This Saturday Danielle and I hiked from One Mile Lake to Narin Falls Campground. My trainer wanted me to walk hills and this was hills! Basically, we were on a side of the mountain and although I had to catch my breath a few times, it was awesome. Next time maybe I’ll walk all the way to the falls?
I’m getting excited to bring out my bike (any day now) but in the meantime I’m adventuring around town by foot. I’ve been looping One Mile Lake (#64) and watching the lake defrost. So, I’m on the hunt for new trails. I thought I knew where the Valley Loop was (#55) but I ended up on some really muddy single track trail….which wasn’t the loop. That is okay because I saw a bald eagle!
I also walked around Collins Road, this weekend! There are some pretty spectacular views of Mt. Currie out there.
So, this weekend I’ll be walking the Narin Trail (#65) and I’ll have to attempt the Valley Loop again. How can I not be out there strollin’ in this fantastic weather?
Oh yah, with the help of Sylvie, I’ll begin biking these trails, too (well, the green and blue ones).
While central and eastern Canada are in a deep freeze, we are blessed with 5 above and sunshine. Shayne bought be a sexy orchid and I spent the day hiking around the trails here. I saw an eagle and got really muddy!
Today marks my “very merry unbirthday” or half birthday…..it’s exactly 6 months until the big three-oh and I spent the day outside. With highs in Pemberton reaching 10 degrees, and the sun making an appearance, I took over 10,000 steps around town. I basically walked around One Mile Lake in both the morning and afternoon and took some pictures. Enjoy!
